Beginning next Monday a tent show will make its appearance in this
city under the direction of a former resident of Montgomery county, J.L.
Percy, well known to many persons in this community and for 3 years
engaged in conducting a farm one mile north of New Market is the showman
who will bring the Percy Players to Crawfordsville for a week's
engagement. Mr. Percy, who was in the city Tuesday making arrangements
for his show announced that he would feature his daughter, Jessie Mae
Percy, in the coming productions. Miss Percy is a graduate of the New
Market HS with the class of 1923 and her appearance, here is bound to
create considerable interest. The Percy Players will appear under canvas
on the vacant lot near the Sales Pavilion and will offer a change of
program nightly. A part of the receipts from the entertainments will go
toward the purchase of uniforms for the Athens City Band. This musical
organization was first organized by the junior department of the Moose
and has been renamed. Perry Abbott is directing the band and expects to
